Preface:
The Empowering Ugandans (EU) team is anyone and everyone who’s made a difference to Ugandans—through financial gifts, donations of books, sewing machines or computers, or by offering encouragement and prayers. In whatever way you’ve contributed you are an important part of the Empowering Ugandans team and you’ve changed lives—thank you!

At Hope of Glory Christian School, the generosity of our EU team has made a remarkable difference, and a young leader is emerging. Meet Jemimah, a fifth-grader with a passion for reading and leadership that’s inspiring her peers and teachers.
Recently, Jemimah embraced an exciting opportunity: running for Library Prefect. Thanks to the resources the EU team helped provide, this role encouraged students to shape their learning environment and develop vital leadership skills.
When the competition was announced, Jemimah eagerly joined. Despite facing strong competitors, she remained determined. A rigorous selection process ensued to find a student who truly valued the library and had a vision for its future.
A highlight of the competition was Jemimah’s speech, which she delivered confidently to her peers and teachers. She passionately advocated for daily reading and shared her plans for enhancing the library—her thoughtfulness and vision inspired all who listened.
Librarian Geoffrey Ojok, a key Hope of Glory staff member, also interviewed Jemimah. Her love for books was clear as she described her favorites, including a treasured science book on the shelf.
Jemimah’s efforts resonated deeply with her fellow students, and in a school-wide vote she was elected Library Prefect with overwhelming support.
The library at Hope of Glory School, stocked and maintained through the generosity of the EU team, isn’t just providing books—it’s building future leaders. Jemimah’s journey from reader to elected leader reflects the lasting influence of our team’s commitment.
A big thank you goes to every team member for being part of this transformative work. Your support is nurturing Uganda’s next generation of leaders, one book and one student at a time.

Wonderful!
