Two years ago, Lakareber Diana was working for a loan company, searching for any opportunity just to “have a living.”

Diana had never used a computer. Now she's a software developer. One class changed everything.

She had never used a computer before, and a career in technology wasn’t even a thought in her mind.

Because of your support, that changed the moment she walked into the ICT (Information Computer Technology) class at Empowering Ugandans.

Diana describes that first class as more than just a lesson—it was a “door opener.”

“It really changed my destiny because before I was not so much into technology and that was my first interaction with computers... it really changed me a lot.”

Your partnership provided the foundation Diana needed to dream bigger.

The ICT class at Empowering Ugandans served as the essential bridge to Diana’s future. It was specifically because of the foundational skills she gained in our program that she qualified for a scholarship in software development at Refactory Academy.

As Diana shares, she went from having no computer experience to pursuing software development because of that first class.

She didn’t stop there—she went on to volunteer with BOSCO Uganda, where she learned networking, and solar systems, proving that providing marketable skills is the key to lifting individuals out of hopelessness.

Today, Diana is a professional at Max Computers. She is no longer just looking for “anything” to get by; she is a highly skilled IT professional who can develop software, troubleshoot hardware, and provide expert consultations.

By investing in Diana’s education, you have helped her become a resourceful and prosperous, contributing to the vision of a “modern and prosperous” Uganda.

Diana is now able to support herself and her loved ones, fulfilling the very heart of our mission.

Thank you for opening doors for students like Diana and helping them rewrite their destinies.
